How do I sign up for your service?

Please fill out the availability survey on the homepage to see if your address is within our service area. If you are in our network, a representative will reach out to you and schedule an install. You may also call our office at 229-271-7925 to sign up for service. 

Where are Southern Fiber Worx services available?Southern Fiber Worx internet and phone services are available within Cordele, Georgia, Crisp County, and parts of Sumter County. Please fill out the address on the homepage to see if we can service you. 

How long will an install take?
Typically, installs take 3-4 hours. We can normally schedule your install 1-2 weeks out from the time you call or fill out the survey for service. 

Does Southern Fiber Worx provide the equipment?
Southern Fiber Worx provides an ONT (optical network terminal [what use to be modem]) and a router with the equipment lease fee. The routers are gigabit capable which provides the service guaranteed at the router plugged into our computer for speed test. If you use your own equipment, we cannot guarantee that you will get the speed advertised. 

How do I verify if my router is gigabit capable?
Router Ethernet (WAN (Modem/Internet) and LAN) ports have a link type of 10/100 Mbps and 10/100/1000 Mbps. Routers with 10/100 Mbps will not receive or distribute speeds higher than 100 Mbps, whereas routers with 10/100/1000 Mbps will receive/distribute speeds up to 1 Gbps. You will see these specifications on the manufacturers box for any router. We recommend that you confirm the ethernet port specs instead of going off the AC1000+ specifications. Sometimes the AC wireless specification can be misleading and the router will only support 10/100 Mbps of the ethernet link capacity.

What is fiber?
A fiber internet connection, sometimes referred to as FTTH, FTTP, or FTTX, is the use of fiber optic cabling to send and receive internet signals between ISP (Internet service provider) and your home by using light. This allows your internet connection to literally travel at the speed of light and provides an unbelievably reliable connection with a nearly unlimited capacity for future growth!

Does Southern Fiber Worx provide Anti-Virus, Spyware, or Adware protection?
Customers are required to provide their own security software. There are free options—such as AVG, Avast, Avira, Malwarebytes and Spybot—and commercial malware and spyware software are also available.            Note: the above security programs are not supported by Southern Fiber Worx. 

Who can get Southern Fiber Worx Phone Service?
Any customer with our internet service can get phone service

Can I livestream on Southern Fiber Worx internet?
Yes, our internet service provides enough bandwidth to stream. 

How do I change my internet bandwidth?
Since we don’t have contracts, you can change your speed at any time! To change your speed package, you will need to contact the office at 229-271-7925.

When are you coming to my area?
Please refer to our service area map. You can check and see what areas we are building out for future service. You can also check the updates page on our website or Facebook to see when we have completed a build and are ready to install.

Am I able to have a static IP address on Southern Fiber Worx Internet?
Yes, Static IP address assignments for business class service only are available upon request. Contact the office to set up this feature. 

Why isn't my VPN working?
Verify that the host server address is correct as well as the host username and password. This information will need to be obtained by your employer's IT department. If you connect through a router, there may be settings that are not configured properly to support a VPN connection.

Will fax work with VoIP?
Fax will work over Southern Fiber Worx internet along with our phone services. 

What is the difference between VoIP and regular phone service?
Southern Fiber Worx provides phone service over your fiber internet connection. Providing phone service over the fiber allows us to cut cost for the customer. 

What is VoIP?
Voice Over Internet Protocol is a technology that enables voice communications using the internet. VoIP provides an alternative to traditional phone networks, which use fixed electrical paths.
